Gilgit, September 6: The Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA) has decided to work round-the-clock, in three shifts, in view of the disastrous impact of the torrential rainfall throughout the region.
According to a message shared by the Director General of GBDMA, the control room has been established in Jutial, Gilgit, to ensure smooth coordination between different government departments and other humanitarian actors.
Emergency landline, mobile and fax numbers have been designated for coordinating the humanitarian crisis, after the death of at least 11 people in two incidents in Baltistan and Diamer, during the last two days.
These numbers can be used to reach the GBDMA control room in Gilgit.

The GBDMA has also sent relief items to different valleys, an official told Pamir Times, to help the disaster hit families.
