Gilgit: CID arrests man accused of attacking foreigners in 1998

Gilgit, October 27: The CID branch of Gilgit has arrested a man who, they say, was involved in killing an American named Edward and injuring his wife, Yasmin, in 1998.
A CID official told Pamir Times that the couple was attacked in the Haramosh area of Gilgit. They have arrested a man named Abid Hussain, son of Rehmat Khan, a resident of Haramosh Valley, on charges of the murder.
The case has been resolved after 16 years of investigation, the CID official said. He added that the man has been booked under case number 76/98, and he stands accused of murder under article 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The CID official claimed that two of their men were injured while trying to arrest the alleged murderer, who has now been shifted to the CID branch for further investigation.
