Gilgit: Police arrests man for alleged sexual abuse of 15 years old child

Gilgit, November 22: A boy in Gilgit has approached the police, informing them that he was sexually abused by a Suzuki driver in the Jutial bus stand area. Police has arrested the alleged sex predator and registered cases against him.

According to media reports, a 15 years old child (name withheld for privacy reasons) reached a police station in the Jutial area to register complaint against a man identified as Sujahat son of Abdul Malik, a resident of Chamogarh area of Gilgi city, who, the child told the police, had taken him to a hotel near the Jutial bus stand and sexually abused him by force. Police have told reporters that the child was crying when he reached the police.

Police have arrested the accused on the complaint of the child and locked him up, registering case number 35/14 against him under article 377 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The clauses cover cases related to “unnatural intercourse” and “criminal intimidation”.

The emergence of a second case of sexual abuse within one week of the abuse and murder of Hasnain has shocked the entire Gilgit-Baltistan region.
