Power blackout in Gilgit-Baltistan: Employees shut down power houses to protest killing of union president

Gilgit, December 14: Enraged due to the killing of the president of Gilgit-Baltistan employees union, the employees of water and power department caused shut down of all power houses in protest. This resulted in a complete blackout in all seven districts of Gilgit-Baltistan. The blackout has badly affected all hospitals, businesses and general public.

According to sources, a person named Jawahir Khan opened fire and injured Muhammad Mustaqeem, based in Konadas station as Supervisor,  today morning after having some hard conversation on matter related to his work. Mustaqeem was taken to City Hospital Gilgit where he died at evening.
