750 plus grade 17,18 posts in Gilgit-Baltistan to be filled through FPSC

Gilgit: The Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly on Monday passed a resolution amending the GB Public Service Commission Act, paving way for hiring of more than 750 grade 17 and 18 officers through the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC).

Under the 2009 President Order, GB has to establish its own Provincial Public Service Commission for hiring government employees, but despite of enactment of law the commission has not been established.

Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman said that hiring through FPSC would be transparent and there would not be any chance for malpractice. The bill was presented by Law Minister Advocate Aurangzeb, and adopted by the house unanimously. Deputy Speaker Jafarullah Khan chaired the third fourth sitting of the assembly’s 7th session.
