Gilgit: A ‘brutally tortured’ two-year old child has died after fighting for his life for 24 hours in a ventilator at the District Headquarters Hospital, Gilgit.
According to details, the ‘brutally tortured’ body of a two-year old boy was found in the middle of a pile of stones in Pisan village of Nagar District on 11th of September 2016. Local sources have informed that the child’s cloths had been taken off when he was found.
The badly injured, but alive, child was shifted to the DHQ Hospital Gilgit and put on a ventilator. He succumbed to his injuries on the 12th of September after fighting for his life.
The incident was brought to the attention of the media on the 14th of September.
A photograph (available with Pamir Times) of the child’s dead body shows scars and bruises on the forehead and the abdomen. A medico-legal examination of the boy’s body has been performed and the autopsy report is being expected today (15th of September).
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR), and are waiting for the autopsy report.
Locals have expressed anguish and shock at the incident and demanded investigation leading to dispensation of justice.
