Student from Gilgit-Baltistan shot dead in Karachi, two injured

Karachi: Murtaza, a young student belonging to Gilgit-Baltistan, has been shot dead in a suspected sectarian attack in Karachi. Two other students from GB have been injured in the apparently targeted attack.

According to details, Murtaza was a student of BBA, second semester, at the Indus University, according to sources. He, along with others, were fired upon when they were returning from a tuition/coaching center in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. Murtaza belonged to Nagar District of GB.

The injured students have been identified as Ehsan Ali and Shahid Ali. They are under treatment at JPMC.

Updated: The story has been corrected. An earlier version said that the deceased was MBA student at Karachi University.
