Stranded Afghan children reunited with family

Chitral: Two Afghan children, who inadvertnantly reached the Arandu Valley of District Chitral, KPK, were reunited with their parents.

According to details shared by an official of the Child Protection Unit, two children – 14 and 6 year old siblings – from Nooristan province of Afghanistan mistakenly crossed into Pakistani territory in the Arandu Valley of District Chitral.

They forget their way back to home, and could also not satisfy the local police about their address, or identity. Later, the children were shifted to the office of the region’s Assistant Commissioner. From their the children were given in the custody of the Child Protection Unit, who approached the “Arandu Islahi Committee” to trace the sibling’s family members.

The committee members used their contacts to trace the children’s family members.

They were united with their family members today in Chitral.

The father of the children has thanked the Child Protection Unit and other officials who assisted the children in their hour of need, said a press release sent by the CPU.
