Fallen Chinese mountaineer cremated in Baltistan

SKARDU: A Chinese mountaineer who had fallen to his death in the Gondogoro La area of Baltistan was cremated by his family members and friends in Kuwardu Thang area of Baltistan.

The Chinese mountaineer, identified by his last name Qing, had lost his life last week while traveling over the Gondogoro La/Pass, 5585 meters high. His dead body had been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in a helicopter.

Two other Chinese nationals arrived in Baltistan to receive the dead body, and cremated the mortal remains in an isolated part of Kuwardo Thang, in accordance with the Chinese tradition.
