Islamabad, January 29: The second day of Hunza Cultural Mela was attended by around two thousand people from all three regions of the Hunza Valley and different other parts of Gilgit – Baltistan.

Artists presented songs in Burushaski, Wakhi and Shina – three of the languages classified by UNESCO as “endangered” according to a red book, as the musicians played traditional tunes. Majority of the artists were specially invited to Islamabad to attend the Mela.

The Mela is organized annually by the Hunza Cultural Forum; an Islamabad based civil society initiative. Awards were also presented to individuals who had obtained outstanding achievements in the field of arts, science and different other fields of life.

Different stalls had also been arranged to show-case the region’s handicrafts and other cultural and food items.

Can any body tell me who this singer is? Thanks.
