Petrol pumps in Hunza & Nagar on strike

The petrol pumps in Hunza, Nagar and Danyore remained closed on Tuesday, October 9 in protest against the harsh behaviour of the police with oil tanker drivers who cross the makeshift Konadas Bridge, in Gilgit city.

The pump owners have blamed the NA police for illegally charging Rs. 3000-5000, per truck, before allowing themto cross the bridge. The Konodas bridge, a vulnerable structure, got importance as the only root that connects Danoyre, Hunza and Nagar with rest of the country,  after collapse of Danyore’s China Bridge.
