The CM signed an MoU with Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan for construction of a 250 bed hospital in Chilmis Das area of Gilgit city, close to the Karakuram International University.

This is very encouraging news for the neglected and poor people of GB. this should have been constructed long time ago, but still not too late and worthy.
Event on such a magnificant scale is mystical, improves quality of life for present & future generations.
During constuction period, human resources will be employed. The local population will be provided with food & shelter to face the future.
Until today, health-care services continues to be weak in Gilgit-Baltistan as most qualified health professionals are lacking. Scarcity of resources have been hampering provision of medicines and other supplies required to offer basic services. Given its limited capacity in terms of human resources and other resources by the government, the Aga Khan Health Services’s aim to pursue the delivery of health-care services through its hospital establishment initiatives is highly appreciable.
However mushrooming of substandard so called health care facilites with limited disciplines, manpower and resources has failed to deliver quality healthcare services to the people.
The entire Gilgit-Baltistan population is facing problems because of shortage of standardized health care facilities. The current hospitals do not meet the demands rather fraught with major flaws in terms of patient care at various levels.
The other important matter that needs to be addressed immediately is the shortage of skilled manpower, especially surgeons and specialists in various disciplines as people of suffering of various health ailments without a proper diagnostic mechanism and treatment procedures in place.
Gilgit-Baltistan is facing multifarious problems especially in health care.. This least tendency for accommodating patients from the outskirts of Gilgit critically distorts the situation and aggravates the problem.
People with serious health ailment are facing great hardships as the health care service in the region does not meet the rising demand and many patients have to go to the downstreams for treatment of even minor problems which compounds their woes like financial burden, security situation and delay in help to resolve the problems on immediate basis.
Best Regards
