Legislators in Gilgit-Baltistan blast Services Secretary for using derogatory words
Gilgit, May 3: Fiery and enraged legislators in Gilgit-Baltistan, unanimously, condemned Dr. Saad Sikandar Khan for reportedly using derogatory words about the GB lawmakers during a briefing in front of a delegation of Senators. He had reportedly suggested to the Senators that the authorities and powers should remain with Islamabad are because the GB legislators are inept and incapable for governing of the region.
Speaker Wazir Baig, while chairing a session at the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly, demanded action against the bureaucrat for “degrading” the 2 million people of Gilgit-Baltistan. He also said that several bureaucrats were involved in corruption and they have ruined the GB government’s efforts aimed at good governance. He took the name of Ibrahim Arif, a former Finance Secretary, who has allegedly embazzelled tens of millions of rupees while awarding contracts and by taking bribes .
Sheikh Nisar, Mirza Hussain, Haji Janbaz and others harshly criticized Saad Sikandar Khan for his words. They demanded of the government to sack him and send him back to Islamabad immediately.
