“Heartiest congratulations to all the candidates for showing wonderful overall performance this year,” saidKarima Kara, Associate Director,AKU-EB. “Congratulations to the teachers and affiliated schools, too for their efforts in preparing students for our examinations which test their thinking and reasoning abilities rather than memories.”

“And this is what leads them to success in university entrance tests, and later in higher studies,” she added while talking about the competitiveness of AKU-EB’s candidates increasingly recognized by the universities across Pakistan and abroad.

Previously a Youth Exchange Programme Scholar, and the HSSC first position holder, Afshan Hussain, couldn’t hold her excitement hearing about her position. “I dedicate this position to my parents and teachers who placed so much confidence in me that I could do it,” she said.

While talking about her experience studying in the United States under YES programme, she said, “I realized that they challenged our thinking in a similar way as AKU-EB does through its syllabuses so I didn’t have any problems in my studies. For example, understanding concepts, use of technology, research, and interactive presentations which really boost our self-confidence and reasoning skills.”

“Students should focus on hard work and trust in their own abilities; success will follow automatically. This is how I achieved it,” she added while sharing her secrets for success.

Describing the value and currency of AKU-EB’s HSSC certificate, Ms Kara said that AKU-EB’s annual alumni surveys reveal a very high percentage of its alumni obtaining admissions to national and international universities in diverse disciplines. She was thrilled to share that many of AKU-EB’s alumni have already stepped into the professional field after graduating from universities. “This is a time for dual celebration – success of our candidates in education and beyond,” she said.

Ms Kara also shared examples of AKU-EB alumni who are performing so well at the universities. One of them is Shahzad Ali, currently studying at a private sector university.

“Through one of his class projects, he was able to save his university up to Rs.2 million every month in energy costs. This is a huge tangible impact of good education which trains students to think outside of the box. We are so proud of Shahzad’s accomplishment who gave back to the institution through his talents,” she said.
