Summer Program at IIS launched
The Institute of Ismaili Studies is pleased to announce that this year’s Summer Programme on Islam will be held from 10th – 16th August 2008. The programme will be held at the University of Cambridge, UK. This seven-day residential programme is open to graduates, entrepreneurs and professionals from the Jamat globally. All applicants must have a competency in English and an undergraduate degree or equivalent.
The programme aims to provide a social, cultural and civilisational introduction to Islam situating the Ismaili tariqah within the larger Shi‘i and Sunni contexts of the intellectual and historical development of Islam. Participants will also have the opportunity to raise questions, stimulate reflection and encourage discussion on contemporary issues facing Muslim societies.
Participant contribution to the programme is 900 British Pounds. Limited financial assistance is available and the selection of participants will be needs-blind.
The deadline for applications is Friday 25th April 2008. For further information and application form, please visit www.iis.ac.uk/SPI2008 or e-mail
