GILGIT-The Water and Power Department of Northern Areas, on Thursday restored the electricity to Gilgit City which was suspended for the last two days due to repair of water channel of Naltar Power House. According to the official sources, the recent heavy rains and snowfall triggered land sliding in this mountainous part of the region. As a result, the water channel of 18 MW Naltar Power house was damaged. After receiving reports, the concerned staff rushed to the site and started repairing the channel. “The power supply has been restored and there is no interruption in this regard, ” the sources said.
