PMLN candidate Imran Wakeel has won the Tangir valley by-election

Gilgit: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s candidate Imran Wakeel won the GBLA-18 Diamer-3 Tangir by-election, defeating former minister health Haji Gulbar Khan of Jumait Ulma Islam (JUI-F), said CEC.
According to Chief Election Commissioner G-B, Imran Wakeel got 3917 votes, while Gulbar secured 2334 votes. The seat was vacated due to the death of a PML-N provincial Minister Forest Haji Muhammad Wakeel
PML-N had awarded the party ticket to Imran Wakeel, brother of the deceased former minister, for contesting the by-election. Out of total 26 polling stations, 6 were declared extremely sensitive, 4 sensitive and other normal. Army and police personnel were deployed for security at the polling stations during the by-election. 15,645 voters are registered in the GBLA-18 constituency of Diamer.
