Martyred Police Officer Ashraf Noor laid to rest in ancestral village Sermik, Skardu
SKARDU: Martyred Additional IGP Headquarters, KPK Ashraf Noor was buried on Friday in his ancestral village Sermik, Skardu with full police honor. His funeral prayers were offered both at Peshawar and Skardu. Ashraf was martyred when a suicide bomber rammed motorbike into his vehicle in Hayatabad area of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Peshawar, funeral prayers of the slain officer was offered in Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines wherein attended by Governor KP, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Corps Commander Peshawar Peshawar, Lt General Nazir Ahmad Butt, KP IGP, Salahuddin Mehsud, Speaker KP Assembly, Assad Qaisar, Air Vice Marshal, Sarfaraz, Commandant Frontier Constabulary, Liaqat Ali Khan, CCPO Peshawar, Muhammad Tahir and high ranking civil and police high ups.
Coffin of the Shaheed was covered with national flag and was presented salute by a smart contingent of police.
The body of the martyred police officer, Ashraf Noor was shifted to Skardu by a helicopter.
In Skardu, the funeral was attended by Force Commander Gilgit Baltistan, Maj. General Saqib Mehmood, GB council members, Ulema, high ranking civil and military official and large number of people from all walks of life.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday paid tribute to Additional Inspector General (AIG) Headquarters Ashraf Noor. According to Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor’s Tweet, the army chief strongly condemned the attack and added, “ Salute to supreme sacrifice of our Police comrade. Our determination remains undeterred against threats to our motherland.”

Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman has paid rich tributes to the son of Gilgit-Baltistan. He said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan were sacrificing their lives to protest the nation from ill-wishers.
Shaheed Ashraf Noor was promoted to Additional IGP in Grade 21 in February 2017.Prior to his last assignment, he also served as SDPO Kahuta, SP Traffic, SP Headquarters Abbottabad, DPO Chitral, DPO Kohistan, SP Investigation, SP Frontier Reserve Police (FRP), DIG Inquiry, DIG Investigation, DIG Special Branch, Commandant Police Training College Hungu and Additional IGP Elite Force. He was MSc Agriculture and joined police force in November, 1989.
The deceased officer left behind two wives, six sons and three daughters.
