Protest against flour shortage in Hunza

Hunza, May 27:  A large number of people from Hunza have protested in Aliabad against the artificial shortage of wheat, regular electricity breakdown and other graving issues facing the local community. The protest was organised by Progressive Youth Front (PYF) Hunza.

The protesters demanded the Government to immediately resolve these issues in order to give relief to the poor people.

Baba Jan, Central Chief Organiser, PYF, Ahsan Advocate, Leader Northern Areas Labour Party and President Northern Areas Bar Association, Ghulam Muhammad, Leader PPPP, Zahoor Ilahi, Ghulam Tahir, Rahim Khan and Farhan  Bahadur were among the main speakers of the rally.

The speakers criticised the the role of Chief Executive Northern Areas, Mir Ghazanfar  for the conspiracies he is weaving against the shareholders of Sost Dry Port in time when the local community is facing problems due to the shortage of flour and electricity breakdown.

The protesters demanded from the Government to increase wheat quota for Hunza and initiate mega projects to resolve the energy crisis.
