“my tribute to the great visionary for establishing PDC….” comments Governor SBP

Gilgit, June 9: Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Governor State Bank of Pakistan together with Inshan Ali Nawaz, Chief Operating Officer, The First Micro-Finance Bank Ltd. Pakistan and Mr. Faryad Shah, Area Manager, Micro-Finance Bank, Gilgit Region, visited the Professional Development Center, North, of Aga Khan University, on June 5, 2008. The PDCN Faculty and Administrative Officials accorded a warm welcome to the honorable guest on her arrival.
During her visit she briefly addressed the course participants of the Advanced Diploma in Education: Educational Leadership & Management course. She spoke about the role of State Bank of Pakistan and the monitory policies and also briefly touched upon the leadership qualities and professionalism.
She also met the officials of Academy of Educational Planning & Management (AEPAM) Ministry of Education, who were facilitating a workshop on the integration of ICT in Science and Mathematics for the government teachers from various districts of the Northern Areas.
She appreciated the role of AKU-IED-PDCN in offering quality programs and services to the professionals of education and representatives of civil society. The governor also showed great interest in partnership opportunities for PDCN and Institute of Bankers arranging trainings for the Bankers in the Northern Areas.
A formal presentation about the programs, outreach and achievements of PDCN, was delivered by by Mr. Zeenat Shah, Faculty PDCN. She applauded the performance of PDCN faculty and other staffs. She departed from PDCN, in the afternoon.
Writing her impressions on the visitor’s book in the Library & Resource Center, She noted “My tribute to the great visionary for establishing this PDC which will play a significant role in economic and social transformation of this region. Best wishes to Administrators and Faculty”.
MY HEARTIEST CONGRATULATION TO MR. INSHAN ALI NAWAZ FOR SUCH IMPORTANT STEPS AND INSHALLAH THE NORTH OF PAKISTAN WILL PROVE THAT IT IS ONLY THE INDIVIDUALLS THAT CAN CHANGE THE WORLD. I M ALSO VERY HAPPY THAT WE HAVE VISIONARY LEADERS IN DIFFERENT AREAS BUT IT NEED ONLY CHANNALIZE THEM ON THE RIGHT TRACK.
ONCE AGAIN CONGRATS TO ALL THE MANAGEMENT OF PTDCN GILGIT AS WELL, WHOM ARE BUSY IN BUILDING A VERY VALUEABLE MANPOWER FOR THE COUNTRY, UNDER THE GUIDENCE OF A REKNOWN DR. IMAM DAD.
It is the AKDN which deserve such comments. PDC’s efforts has brought revolutionary change in the educational culture of Pakistan and N.As.
The products of AKU-IED are a sign of proud for us either they belong from the community or not, they are really changing the orthodox teaching style.
In addition to the above there are some room for improvement, e.g. the teachers after getting education from AKU-IED are posted in the adminstration area so thier knowledge is being wasted (correct me if I am wrong).
