Tributes to the young climbers from Shimshal
Two young climbers Mehrban Karim and Jahan Baig from the land of climbers-Shimshal were among the ten climbers who have lost their lives in a tragic incident during scaling the 8,611-metre K2 peak.
The team of PT pays huge tributes to the young climbers and extends heartiest condolences to the bereaved families.

Tribute to the heros who lost their lives not only during job but in struggling to save others. This atribution of our heros paves ways for others to follow the message of Quran which says “Those who saved one life have saved the humanity”. Though these martyards have lost their lives in saving others and thus have fulfilled the true message of God.

The little-known Italian, Simone la Terra, had one other climbing partner for his attempt on 8125-meter Nanga Parbat via the Diamir Face, the experienced Pakistan mountaineer MEHRBAN KARIM. They reached the standard base camp on December 3 and established Camp 1 on the regular Kinshofer Route (ca. 3500m, Kinshofer-Low-Manhardt, 1962) at 6000m on the 10th in temperatures of -35 degrees C. However, strong winter winds caused a constant hassle and during the night of the 21st simply blew away their base camp kitchen tent with everything in it. At that stage la Terra decided to call off the expedition. The Diamir flank faces northwest and at the best of times only receives little winter sunshine: the team reported seeing the sun on only one occasion throughout their entire stay in December.
The Italian mountaineer scaled Broad Peak this summer, and has chosen MEHRBAN KARIM, a strong Hunza climber, for partner on the upcoming Nanga Parbat attempt. Mehrban climbed Nanga Parbat in 2005 and has also scaled Gasherbrum II.

I would like to express my heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family of our two Stars who has given their life not only to summit the second highest mountain of the world but also tried to save the life of their team members.
They have written their name in the history of Climbers for ever. We are proud on our stars who even in the most difficult and life risk time can not forget the objective of human being on earth like giving helping hand even in a most difficult situation..

Mountaineering is a brave job; one is indeed prepared to risk everything to conquer the most enduring of nature’s challenges. Our two brothers and indeed all the other climbers who lost their lives have immortalized themselves in our history as well as the history of mountaineering. Every soul is born to die and death comes in a number form, shape and time, but the death of these Sons of our land and their tale of bravery would be remembered forever.
