Plan chalked out for capacity building of lady health workers

GILGIT: The Health Department of Gilgit-Baltistan has decided to impart a comprehensive training course for Lady Health Workers and the Supervisors which is scheduled to be commenced in the second week of the upcoming month.
This was decided in a meeting of the Health Department held here under the chairmanship of Secretary Health Suhail Saqlain to deliberate upon as to how the programme could be further strengthened.
Under the plan, lady health workers and the supervisors will be educated about their primary role for maximum results of Primary Health Care and Family Planning Programme.
The meeting felt need of capacity building of lady health workers and lady health supervisors and decided that it will be carried out by organizing a regular training course.
The meeting also decided that problems encountered by the field officers will be removed by utilizing resources in an appropriate manner.
The meeting stressed the need for adopting multi-sectoral approach to make maximum use of programme initiatives. The training for lady health workers and lady health supervisors would be held in collaboration with Aga Khan Health Service. News Pakistan
