Skardu, December 7: At least six people, including two women, died in a tragic road accident Wednesday morning, while travelling in a “Toyota” vehicle from Katisho village to Skardu City. Eight people were injured.
The tragic accident, reportedly, took place due to dilapidated condition of the road and a brake-failure. There are reports that many of the injured could have been saved had first aid reached them fast enough.
Three victims of the accident were identified as Haji Muzafar Hussain, Muhammad Kazim and Muhammad Hussainand.
The dead bodies were recovered by local residents from the river ravine in which in the vehicle had fallen. The injured were shifted to DHQ hospital in Skardu. Their condition is reported to be out of danger.
Government officials and police officers had also reached the spot on time.
