KKH expansion: 2.5 billion required for payment of compensation, GM NHA

Gilgit, February 5: Efforts are being made to pay compenstaion to the affectees of Karakoram Highway expansion project. Around 2.5 billion rupees are required for payment of compensation to people whose land has been affected due to expansion of the Karakuram Highway.
This was stated by Abdullah Jan, NHA’s General Manager for Gilgit – Baltistain region, while talking to media yesterday. He said that arrangements have been made to pay the compensation. Some districts have yet to finalize the compensation award lists, he said.
