PLA demands autonomous examination board for GB

Gilgit, May 17: Chief Minister of Gilgit – Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah, shall announce establishment of an autonomous examination board for Gilgit – Baltistan. GB minister for education and Secretary for Education are, both, in favor of establishing an independent examination board.

These views were expressed by officials of the Gilgit – Baltistan Professors and Lecturers’ Association (PLA) during an important meeting in the regional capital. The lecturers and professors said that the current arrangement, where Karakuram International University functions as an examination board, is illogical and illegal. They said that the University is not mandated to take examinations.
