SC suspends IG Hussain Asghar

Islamabad, June 28: The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered suspension of GB’s Inspector General of Police, Hussain Asghar, for not appearing in the Court. He had been summoned during hearing of the Haj Corruption Case for which he was the chief investigation officer, before being posted to GB.
The Supreme Court had ordered Hussain Asghar to resume his duty as Chief Investigation Officer of the case. However, he has not been ‘relieved’ by the GB government.
Former Federal Minister for religious affairs had been detained on charges of corruption. Ousted PM, Gilani’s son is also under trial in this case.
