Ghizer: International Youth Day celebrated in Punial

Punial: International Youth Day was celebrated on Aug 12, 2012 at Ghizar Tourist Cottage, Singul under the banner of Middle Punial Youth and Professionals Association(MPYPA).

A large number of youth, village notables, people belonging to civil society, human rights organizations, NGOs , lawyers community , jounalistic fraternity and people belonging to different  walks of life participated in the ceremony.

The venue of the ceremony was decorated by baloons, banners ,posters incribed with theme of IYD 2012 “Building a better world, partnering with youth.”

Addressing the ceremony the speaker congratulated MPYPA for organizing IYD 2012, for the first time in District Ghizar.

Speakers appreciated the efforts made by MPYPA for the development of the youth and building a healthy society through youth oriented healthy activities in the area.

Speakers were critical of the Govt role in its inability and unwillingness of solving the problems of increasing unemployment,neglect in decision making, corruption, high illiteracy rate, inacceibility to basic education and health facilitie, and others problems faced by the youth.Its was demanded of the Govt to take serious and practical efforts for empowerment and development of the youth in order to build a properous nation.

It was also demanded of the government to formulate youth policy at Gilgit-Baltistan as that have been done in rest of the country.

The participants of  showed solidarity with the youth of whole world for buliding a better world by making hand chain in circles.
