Conservator visits Chipursan Valley

Gilgit Oct 1: The conservator of Forest Gilgit Mr. Muhammad Ismail Zaffar visited Chipursan valley in Hunza-Nagar District along with the Divisional Forest Officer Hunza-Nagar, Mr. Yaqoob Ali on 18th of Sept 2012. They met with the elders of the valley and discussed the prospects of afforestation activities in the valley.
Briefing the conservator of forest, the elders from the valley revealed that they have tremendous potential for afforestation on communal waste land available in the Chipursan valley. The conservator of forest assured the community that his department will undertake interventions for afforestation and wild life conservation.
It is pertinent to note that the Forest department is undertaking a project of Micro hydel power generation to minimize the pressure on natural vegetation and to conserve the ecosystem of the Chipursan valley.
