Photo Exhibition: Colors of China on display in Gilgit

Gilgit, October 3: Overseas Chinese Association Gilgit Baltistan and Chinese Association for Cultural Exchange with Overseas Chinese organized a photo exhibition in Gilgit, in connection with the 63rd founding day of the Peoples Republic of China.  Photographs related to Chinese culture, monuments, people, flora and fauna, civilization and history are part of the exhibition.

The exhibition will continue for four days.

Inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was attended by GB Chief Minister, Syed Mehdi Shah, and the Chinese envoy. Notables of the city and Chinese nationals representing different organizations working in the region also attended the photo exhibition.

Speaking at the occasion the Chief Minister said that as Gilgit-Baltistan’s immediate neighbor and as a time tested friend of Pakistan, China has an important role to play in the development of Gilgit-Baltistan region. exhibition will enable people of Gilgit to know and understand the Chinese culture and traditions. He also congratulated the people of China on the occasion of their independence day celebrations.

The Chief Minister also said that work on establishment of four Chinese language centers is under process. He said that the Chinese Language Centers will help the local youth and business community to learn the language.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chinese envoy thanked the GB government for the support. He said that this is the second photo exhibition held in Gilgit. He also said that Pakistan and China have cordial relationships and the people should come together and know more about each other.
