Two people killed as trucks collide near Passu, Gojal

Gulmit, July 10: Two trucks moving towards Sost collided near Batura glacier in Passu Village of Gojal Valley, upper Hunza, last night, leading to the death of two people.

According to details shared by police sources, two trucks were moving towards Sost at around 12 O’clock in the night when due to over speeding the truck coming from the back (vehicle number C-1067) hit the one moving in the front. After the collision the truck in the back fell in a ravine, having lost balance and control. As a result two people, identified as Syed Iqbal, son of Muhammad Latif, resident of Shangla and Noor Muhammad son of Habib Ullah, resident of Konodas Gilgit, lost their lives, while the driver, Imran Ali son of Tahir, resident of Shangla district, sustained injuries.

The people in the other truck remained safe.

The dead bodies and the injured have been shifted to Gilgit.
