China demands increased security for workers in Pakistan

Islamabad, September 19: The Chinese Government has demanded increased security measures for Chinese workers working on different high-impact infrastructure projects in Pakistan. Sun Weidong, Chinese Ambassador in Islamabad conveyed his government’s concerns over the security measures during a meeting with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar in Islambabad.
According to reports, the ambassador has sought increased security of its engineers and workers working on KKH project in Gilgit-Baltistan and Gwadar in Balochistan. He has appreciated the Pakistani law enforcement agencies for arresting the culprits involved in massacres of climbers in Nanga Parbat Base Camp.
The interior minister has assured to form a special committee in Ministry of Interior to constantly monitor the security of Chinese national in Pakistan.
