“Honor Killing”? Brother kills sister in Sonikot, Gilgit

Gilgit, October 10: A teenage girl has been killed in a brutal manner in the Sonikot ward of Gilgit city, allegedly in the name of honor.

According to details, a man named Asif, son of Gul Khan, killed his sister with a 30 bore pistol in Sonikot on Wednesday. The girl died on the spot and was shifted to the City Hospital for autopsy.

Police later arrested Asif and another man named Naseer on the suspicion of murder and started investigation.

According to some sources the real reason behind the murder is some family dispute.
