Pictorial – Snowfall on New Year Eve in Gilgit city

The first day of 2014 saw a light snowfall in Gilgit city. Asghar Khan, a senior member of Pamir Times, has captured some beautiful images of the snow, which we are sharing here to freshen up your eyes and minds 🙂

Winters, although a bit harsh due to the extreme low temperature, are as beautiful in Gilgit-Baltistan as spring, summer and autumn. Whether the people at the helm of affairs can capitalize on the winter beauty to attract tourists is quite a different question.
