Residents of Miachar Valley, Nagar, suffering due to government apathy

Gilgit, January 4: Residents of the Miachar Valley in Hunza-Nagar district continue to suffer from a slowly unfolding landslide disaster. Link roads to the human settlements are blocked and the locals are facing great difficulties in terms of access to markets and other vital facilities, Muhammad Ali Sheikh, a local notable, told Pamir Times. He said that road to Miachar valley has been blocked for several weeks.
Sheikh demanded of the elected representative and the relevant departments to help the affected people of the region. He also demanded scientific assessment of a potential massive landslide in the village.
It is pertinent to note that five houses had been damaged by a crack that had developed in the village, located at an elevation, along a huge slope.

DDMA hunza nagar and elected representatives of Hunza/ nagar need to be proactive to avoid any emergency.If the situation is worst and serious than after visiting by geologist area should be evacuated. Disaster related agencies of GB can develop a joint strategy to face the situation.
