Two ambulance boats donated by USAID reach Hunza Valley
Hunza: Two boat ambulances donated by the USAID have reached the Hunza Valley. Named Hunza1 and Hunza 2, the ambulance boats will be used in the dammed Hunza River, to transport patients to and from the Gojal Valley.
It is pertinent to note that eight youth have also been trained to operate the boats.
Despite of the belated arrival in the valley, the two ambulance boats will enable patients to move through the dammed Hunza River in a safer and more comfortable manner.
The boats had been donated by USAID almost two years back and they were handed over to the then chief secretary in Karachi early last year. However, the Gilgit-Baltistan government failed to move the boats to the valley in time. Many people believe that the boats will of no use after the KKH has been realigned and linked, hopefully by the end of next year.
