Karachi: ASWO held awareness session on Spiritual, Mental, Social and psychological Health

Karachi, September 28: (PR)  The eventful ASWO’s Academic Session was successfully concluded here on Sunday, September 28th, 2014 in Nizaari Community Hall, North Nazimabad, Karachi. This grand Education-cum-Awareness session was attended by several hundred Students from the Hunza Gilgit regions that are living in different parts of Karachi. These include Cabinet members of Hunza Gilgit Ismaili Student Federation (HGISF) along with office-bearers of all its 18 federating units, donors, Professional, Students for different universities, representatives from Jamati Institutions and Chairman Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board attended this mega event. Various Lectures by Scholars, Sufi Kalaams by famous singers and Refreshment were hallmarks of this highly disciplined but equally mega event.

Keep in view of the prevalent mental issues raised in the recent past, Aliabad Students Welfare Organization had arranged this informative session on Spiritual, social, Mental and Psychological Health on 28th of September 2014 for youth of our community in general and students, professionals of GB in particular.

This session has been conducted by highly renowned speaker like Doctor. Anila Amber, Scholar Farida Taighun Shah, Senior Consultant learning minds Mr. Nadeem Ur Rehman Khan.

Speaker Nadeem Ur Rehman Khan (Senior Consultant Learning minds) shed light on Emotional Intelligence (EQ), as human being consists of Body (Physical intelligence… PQ) Intellect (Intellectual intelligence IQ) sprit (Spiritual intelligence) EQ helps to build stronger relationships, and able human being to identify, understand, and manage emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict. A person who have high EQ are able to identify own emotional state and the emotional states of others.

Scholar/Alwaza Farida Taigun Shah explored contemporary issues of youth, reasons, and solutions of these problems, She Quoted Aga Khan speech “I think it would be foolish to believe that there are no problems – life is made of problems. They occur every day to just about everyone around the world and I think that it is important that we should simply accept that that is life and we must live it fully and courageously”.

Dr. Anila Amber (KU) explained in detail psychological problems and solutions, She shed light on anger management, Anxiety, Behavioral changes, Depression, Substance Abuse, Suicidal thoughts low self-esteem etc,

During different intervals of the Session, tunes of Sufi songs with beautiful vocals of GB gave audience a spiritual relief. Outstanding performance of Rock Star Natasha Baig and new emerging Talent of Chitral Mr. Irfan Taj kept the audience out of stress.

During the session participants from various universities appreciated the importance of this event and praised the effort of ASWO and HGISF for organizing such an informative event for the youth of GB.

By the end of this grand session Toke of Appreciation were distributed among the Speakers and outperforming artists by Special Guest Mr. Safder Karim, Ex-President and Senior advisor Aliabad Students Welfare Organization and Guest of Honor Mr. Shahzad Baig Chairman HGISF and President of ASWO Mr. Moin Hunzai. His welcoming address to the audience Mr. Moin Akhtar– President ASWO thanked each one of the participants in general and office bearers of several youth-led civil society organizations, donors and leadership of HGISF and its federating units in particular for extending all out support to ensure success of this mega event. He introduced ASWO by stating that Aliaabad Students Welfare Organizations is student based organization which offers its services for student welfare related issue. ASWO is working in extreme northern areas to extreme southern areas of Pakistan.
