DC Hunza-Nagar holds ‘Khuli Kachehri’ in Gulmit

Gulmit, Jan 7: The District Commissioner , Hunza-Nagar Imran Ali Sultan held “Khuli Kachehri” at Govt. Girls High School Gulmit in order to entertain the complaints of the people of the disaster affected Gojal tehsil. The representatives of different villages of lower Gojal, including political activists, civil society members and general public attended the meeting.

The heads of different government institutions including AC Hunza, SDO NAPWD, DDO Education, DHO were among others present at the occasion. They listened public issues and promised actions to resolve issues of the area.

The issues highlighted from the local community were KKH land compensation, electricity shortfall, sick projects, shortages of medicines, lack of job opportunities for the educated youth, education facilities among many others

The representatives of different villages also demanded a separate electoral seat for Gojal-Upper Hunza Tehsil.

DC Hunza-Nagar shared his development plans with local community, and promised quick action to resolve the issues of the locality. DC also ensured establishment of government offices in Tehsil headquarter to ease public documentation process.

DC Hunza-Nagar has initiated a series of Public meeting to reduce gaps between government organizations and local community. In the 2nd round of meetings, the government officials will visit Gojal 2 to listen the grievances of people.

The local community has appreciated the concept of “Khuli Kachehri”and demanded to resolve the highlighted issues in order to make such gatherings result oriented.
