Pakistan Air Force gets “Karakuram Eagle”, AWACS, plane

Islamabad: PAF has received the first of its four planned Chinese AWE&C aircraft ZDK-03, aka, “Karakoram Eagle”. A ceremony was yesterday held to induct the plane in the Pakistan Air Force. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was the chief guest at the ceremony in Karachi.

Addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister said inclusion of new equipments will enhance squadron 4 ‘s potential and capabilities. He noted Pakistan Air Force as the best institution of the country which has played a great role in the ongoing war against terrorism.

Nawaz Sharif termed the recent incidents of terrorism as the last outcry of the disgruntled elements and observed that they would be eliminated once and for all times.

Earlier, speaking on the occasion Air Chief Marshall Tahir Rafique Butt in his welcome address observed PAF is proud of having a robust and permanently vigilant squadron 4, by the virtue of which we could assume Pakistan’s defense remains in safe hands.
