Gilgit: The Shaheed-e-Aman Football Championship came to an end today here in Gilgit, with Shaheed-e-Aman Football Club claiming victory against Muhammadi Football Club.
The final match was attended by Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman among other dignitaries.
The event is celebrated every year in the memory of the CM’s slain brother Saifur Rehman Khan, who had also remained a member of the Northern Areas Legislative Council (NALC). He was assassinated near his house by a person angry over Khan’s role in maintaining sectarian calm in the city.
