GILGIT: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was marked in Gilgit with a beautiful event held at Special Education Complex, Gilgit. Special children performed on different songs. Minister Education Ibrahim Sanai graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Wheelchairs, donated by Alkhidmat Foundation, were distributed among physically challenged children

The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992 to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities.
