Session judge escapes assassination attempt in Tangir Valley, Diamer

GILGIT: Session Judge Inayat ur Rehman escaped an apparent assassination attempt in the Tangir Valley of Diamer district, where a police operation is underway after the burning of 14 schools.

According to details, the session judge was traveling along with other people in an official car was fired upon in Lorak area. Four bullets hit the vehicle, but the passengers remained unhurt, said an official, requesting anonymity.

The session judge was traveling to participate in the funeral prayer of Arif Hussain, martyred police constable.

Meanwhile, DIG Johar Nafees has told the media that suicide vests, grenades and other weapons were recovered during the raids.

There are reports that militants have blocked a road in Tanbosh area of Darel, blocking the traffic.
