Ghazanfar threatens to resign as Chief Executive
Gilgit – Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan has threatened to resign as chief executive of the Northern Areas Legislative Assembly (NALA). Talking to the Karakuram Publishing Network (KPN), he criticised “attitude” of the bureaucracy and said that smooth transfer of 
powers, as narrated by a “constitutional package”, to the local representatives was not possible under the existing bureaucratic setup.
He said that the position he holds is meaningless and he does not enjoy independence in decision making. “I have been given authorities equivalent to that of a provincial Cheif Minister on paper”, he cried, “but in reality I don’t have the power to do anything at all”.
He further confessed that works of public interest were not progressing at all because of lack of coordination and cooperation between the establishment and the elected representatives. He, however, thanked President Musharraf for the “constitional package” terming it to be a historical package for the region.
He criticised the bureaucracy saying that they (the bureaucrats) were interferring in his power jurisdiciton and he was not being allowed to transfer and promote officers of his choice.

Bureaucracy is enjoying unlimited power in Northern Areas sicnce the appointment of Muhammad Alam as the first Political Agent. The political institutions are very weak to challenge the long run athorities and mishandlings.
But we hope that our political leaders will also not use their powers for self interests or political revenges. As i was reading the full text of the interview of Chief Executive in which he was complaining that the beaurucrats are interfering to transfer ‘capable and honest’ officers to Hunza.
The problem is to define ‘capable and honest’ officers.
The chief executive, in his infinite wisdom, is the one who wants to define “honesty and capability”.
what a pity that a community who claims to be the most `educated’ one in the last colony of the world is groaning under a leadership which is complete copy of the Chaudhryis of Gujrat — mentally, physically and moraly, and incapacitated. I doubt the wisdom of those degree holders who expect any positive thing from such leadership.
It may benifit you Ghazanfar Sahab while you will get anew name as Hero in our history as the only personality who said no to the Sarkari Maraat and rdefended the honour of Gilgit.as arepresentative of the people of Gilgit.

ہنزہ (نمائندہ خصوصی) چیف ایگزیکٹو شمالی علاقہ جات میر غضنفر علی خان نے کہا ہے کہ ہم ہنزہ نگر کے نئے ضلع کو ایک مثالی ضلع بنادیں گے اور نئے ڈسٹرکٹ کا ہیڈ کوارٹر دونگ داس میں بنایا جائے گا ڈسٹرکٹ کا ہیڈ کوارٹر میں سات سو کے قریب ملازمتیں ازسرنو ملیں گی یہ جگہ کیونکہ گیش والوں کی ہے چھوٹی چھوٹی ملازمتوں میں اس گاﺅں سے لوگوں کی زیادہ بھرتیاں کی جائیں گی اور اعلیٰ عہدوں کے لیے میرٹ پر چناﺅ ہوگا جس میں نصف آسامیوں پر نگر سے بھی بھرتیاں کی جائیں گی قراقرم ہائی وے کو تبدیل کرنے کے بعد اس روڈ کو تین گنا وسعت دی جائے گی ہنزہ کے عوام آئندہ مجھے کامیاب بنائیں تو میں شمالی علاقہ جات کو صوبہ بنادوں گا جس سے ترقی کے ایک نئے سفر کا آغاز ہوگا اب عوام کو این اے کی ایک اور اضافی نشست مل جائے گی اس وقت بھی ہنزہ میں ایک سیٹ این اے کی نہیں بلکہ این اے کی دوسیٹیں ہیں ایک میری اور ایک رانی عتیقہ غضنفر علی خان کی ہے ہنزہ کی ترقی اور خوشحالی کے کاموں میں میرے ساتھ رانی کا بھی حصہ ہے جب میں ہارا تھا تو بھی ہنزہ کے عوام کی خدمت کی تھی اس لیے آپ (ہنزہ کے عوام ) نے خود محسوس کرکے دوبارہ مجھے یاد کیا اور کامیاب کیا جب تک میں زندہ ہوں تب تک اپنے آباﺅ آجداد کی طرح ہنزہ کے عوام کی ترقی اور خوشحالی کے لیے کام کرتا رہوں گا چیف ایگزیکٹو شمالی علاقہ جات میرغضنفرعلی خان نے ان خیالات کااظہار ڈسٹرکٹ کونسل ہنزہ کے اراکین اور یونین کونسل شینا کی تاچپورس کے نمائندوں سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا انہوں نے کہا کہ جو وعدے ہم نے اپنی انتخابی مہم کے دوران کئے تھے وہ پورے کئے اور آئندہ بھی اپنی کوششیں جاری رکھیں گے میں نے ان جگہووں کا بھی برابر اور مساوی ترقیاتی پیکج دیدیا ہے اس موقع پر جان عالم ممبرضلع کونسل گلگت نے کہا کہ میرغضنفر علی خان کی قیادت میں ڈسٹرکٹ کونسلات ہنزہ اور یونین کونسلات ہنزہ نے جو ترقیاتی کام سرانجام دیئے ہیں وہ گزشتہ 35برسوں میں بھی اتنے کام نہیں ہوئے تھے دوتگ داس سب سے زیادہ مناسب جگہ ہے جہاں ڈسٹرکٹ ہیڈ کوارٹر بنے گریلت سے مومن آباد تک کے عوام صاف پانی سے محروم ہیں اس موقع پر ہال ہی ترقی پانے والے ڈی سی محمد کمال وائس چیئرمین ضلع کونسل ایمان شاہ ، ایگزیکٹو انجینئر ہنزہ نگر فریاد خان ، اسٹیشن ہاﺅس آفیسر سید سجاد حسین شاہ کے علاوہ دیگر لوگ موجود تھے

dear Fidi Khan and zulfi, this is a sincere advice but could you expect such a bold and historic step from a spineless, mindless, visionless, dumbed, remote-controlled leader whose sole ambition is to perpetuate his misrule and amess wealth through corruption, commissions on contratcs, and misuse public funds on uplift works around his palace and serve the interests of the Pakistani agencies and establishment.
