GB Professors and Lecturers present charter of demands
Gilgit, March 22 (PR): The Gilgit – Baltistan Professors and Lecturers Association (GBPLA) has presented a charter of demands to government, seeking better opportunities and promotions. They have threatened to start protest from March 25 if their demands were not met.
According a press statement, the PLA has listed down demands, like appointment of professors and lecturers on the basis of fitness, seniority and merit, revival of “time scale”, filling of vacant position at the Directorate of Education.
The PLA has also demanded establishment of an independent examination board for Gilgit – Baltistan.
The association has threatened that if the government doesn’t pay heed to the initial protests, classes will by boycotted by the professors and lecturers from 1st April.
