Elections at the silk Route Dry Port
The Silk Route Dry Port Trust Sost is scheduled to organize elections of its board of directors. It will be for the first time, after five years of inception, that the port will hold any such elections. The compnay policies clearly mention that election should be held periodically. This rule had been ignored in the past continuously.
Large interests are at stake in the currrent election as the dry port is considered to be a bag of money, “open to those who govern it”. In the past high level corruption has been alleged against the administration of the port.
Ghazanfar Ali Khan, newly chistened Chief Executive of Northern Areas, is chairman of the trust. His son, Slaeem Khan, is the vice chairman and wife, Attiqa (member of the NALA) is also a director.
