Hunza, April 16: A high level delegation from Syria headed by Syrian Deputy Education Minister, Ali Al-Hosry and Chief Executive Officer of the Aga Khan Education Services, Syria chapter, Dr Ahmed Hayder visited Federal Government Girls High School (FGGHS) and Al-Amyn Model School, in Gulmit Gojal, to observe the community participation model in educational institutions. Director Outreach of AKU-IED Karachi Dr Sadruddin Pardan and Head of PDCN, Dr. Mouladad Shafa were also accompanying the delegation.
The delegation visited class rooms in FGGHS and interacted with students. Headmaster Muhammad Rehbar gave an elaborate presentation about progress of the school and the role of School Management Committee (SMC) in school’s affairs. Members of SMC were also present at the occasion.
The delegation also visited different model classrooms in Al-Amyn Model School. Principal Nazir Ahmed Bulbul presented details about progress of the school and involvement of the local community in construction of the school building. BoD and society members, key community leaders and social activists were also present at the school. The delegation took keen interest in different affairs of the school and asked questions from the management and community leaders.
I appreciate the efficiency of Mr. Asghar in placing the news item together with pictures of the Syrian delegation to the Northern Areas of Pakistan. The main purpose of their visit was to see community participation and public-private partnership models in educational institutions in the this part of the world.
They were also interested to get deeper insights about PDCN’s programs and its support systems in partmership with AKU-IED and the Aga Khan Khan Education services. As they are also in the process of establishing a PDC in Syria.
