ATIN and ETI sign Memorandum of Understanding for training “Youth Construction Teams”

GILGIT: (PR) National Logistics Cell (NLC) and Economic Transformation Initiative (ET) of International Fund for Agricultural Developmment (IFAD), a UN agency, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today for training of “Youth Construction Teams”, said a Press Release received here.

According to this MoU NLC’s Applied Technical Institute (ATIN) will provide technical training to 100 youths in 8 different trades for upcoming projects of CPEC-NLC and ETI , said Dr Ahsan Mir Programme Coordinator of ETI-IFAD for GB.

ATIN NLC GB has been established to create a pool of technical personnel in context of upcoming CPEC, GB govt and ETI -NLC related projects in GB, he added.

In a very short span of time ATIN Gilgit has shown its professional capabilities as the 11 students from this institute were selected for regional skill competition held at Islamabad last week. One student has won 2nd position and a cash award of Rs 50000/- and was selected for National Skill Competition. said Principal Col (r) Rashid of ATIN Gilgit while signing the MoU.

NLC is successfully running ATINs at Mandra, Dina, Amangarh and Khairpur that have hugely contributed to the skill development of youth particularly those belonging to less developed areas of the country. The institutes are affiliated with National Training Bureau (NTB) and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Govt of Pakistan. More than 50,000 students have been trained in these institutes who are serving in Pakistan as well as in abroad sending much needed foreign exchange to Pakistan said Col Niazi Coordinator of NLC in GB.
