Gorelik had frostbite a week ago. He was a thorough gentleman and a great mountaineer. He will be remembered by the mountaineering community and his friends!! He reached the summit of K-2 in 2007 from West Face direct route, a route which was never been attempted by any other mountaineer/team.

The team of Winter K-2 was consisted of veteran mountaineers. Despite harsh weather conditions they fixed rope up to 7200 meters. But they had to call off the expedition due to sad demise of Vitaliy Gorelik. May his soul rest in the eternal peace!!
