Gilgit, July 25: A meeting of the Balawaristan National Front (Naji Group) was held at a local hotel here in Gilgit city, under the supervision of Nawaz Khan Naji, the party’s supreme leader.
Speakers accused the government of harrasing political workers of the nationalist outfit and demanded that such excesses be stopped immediately. The meeting discussed various issues pertaining to Gilgit – Baltistan and lamented government’s inability to reduce suffering of the ordinary people. The party’s strategy for the upcoming election was also discussed and the media was told that Naji group plans to field candidates from all corners of the region.
The proposed constitutional package was termed as an “eye-wash” by the speakers. Among the speakers were Qari Abdul Khalique, Kalam udin, Ghualm Nabi, Imran Ali, Yawar Ali, Hashim Ali Khan and Iqbal, member of the party’s supreme council. Hashim Ali Khan is also Chairman of the Gahkuch Baldia.
