Judicial and media activism keeping government on track, Gilani

Gilgit, September 29: Addressing top bureaucracy and judiciary of Gilgit Baltistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani emphasized that while institution building is important for establishing good governance any clash between institutions could be fatal for the system.

“Institution building is very important and all institutions should work within orbit of constitution. Any clash between the institutions would destroy every thing” Gilani said while addressing a luncheon reception after chairing a meeting of Gilgit Baltistan administration.

“Federal government would help the Gilgit-Baltistan administration in capacity buildings, good governance, and institutions building. You have to show ability. We are ready to give you all possible support” he added.

Gilani further said that media and judicial activism was keeping the government on track. “If there had not been judicial and media activism we would have committed more mistakes”, he said.

Talking about the upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan Prime Minister Gilani said that held under the supervision of judiciary the polls would be transparent. He said who ever wins these polls would be given opportunity to rule the area. He also promised more funds for the region.
