14 year old girl killed, three family members injured, as boulder hits house in Gupis

Gilgit/Gahkuch: A boulder fall triggered by incessant rains has caused the death of a 14 year old girl, while three members of her family have been injured. The incident took place in the Central Gupis region, 100km NW of Gilgit, in the Ghizar District.

The injured includes a woman, who is reportedly in critical condition, and two children. The boulder/s fell on the house of retired teacher Abdul Hameed.

Gahkuch based journalist Raja Adil Ghayas said that the injured have been referred to a hospital in Gilgit for advanced medical aid.

Roads have reportedly been blocked at multiple locations between Gilgit and Gupis due to the rainfall.
